To celebrate the 14 tournaments since England won in 1966, Warner Music approached us to create a series of album cover artwork for their ‘Music in Motion’ campaign. The campaign featured Warner artist’s music through the years of the world cup – each year celebrating some of the best tracks known by music lovers of all generations and genres.

Our concept for this project focussed on the memorable scenes of each World Cup tournament across the years, and turning these highlights into beautiful pieces of graphic design. We picked out key moments that shocked, amazed and stunned the world and left a mark in the history books.

Starting with England’s emphatic win in 1966, we worked through each year and penned each tournament talking point: the Cruyff turn to Gazza’s tears, Beckham’s red card to Zidane’s head-butt. We collated 14 album cover concepts to design and brand for the series of ‘Music in Motion’ releases that Warner released for the face of the campaign.
